My love affair with stone began over 40 years ago, and you might say it has shaped my journey through life. I have travelled as far as San Miguel, Mexico and Pietrasanta, Italy to express myself in stone, both trips having a profound effect upon my life and career. Breathing life into magnificent stone from around the world has always been a very spiritual and humbling experience for me, after all, nature took billions of years to create these glorious veins and colourations. I have carved in stone from Italy, France, Spain, Israel, Chile, Morocco, India, Greece, Canada and the United States. Each stone is challenging, whether it be marble, alabaster, limestone, granite or slate. The stone itself is my inspiration leading me to carve directly, with no preconceived concepts. As a result of this liberating creative process, each sculpture whether miniature or larger-scale is unique and exciting, enhancing many corporate, private and public collections. I have been featured by galleries in Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Chicago, Philadelphia and Florida, and my work in stone, as well as bronze, has been described as "elegant and sensuous". I have been delighted to share my love for this challenging medium by teaching students of all ages. Over the past 18 years, my teaching positions have included instructing at the Royal Ontario Museum, Havergal College, the Toronto Botanical Gardens, as well as in my private Thornhill studio. I am a native of St. Catharines, Ontario, a mother of three and a grandmother to two little girls.
